69th, 63rd & 61st PCT Night Out Against Crime

Picture
On Tuesday, August 6, We Care NY participated in three National Night Out Against Crime events with the help of victim volunteers. The events were hosted by the 61st, 63rd and 69th Police Precincts. Thousands of residents from Sheepshead Bay, Canarsie, Bergen Beach, Gerritsen Beach, Marine Park and Mill Basin attended the events near their communities.   The events had rides, food, giveaways and activities that were enjoyed and appreciated by all. Volunteers spoke with Sandy-flooded residents about recovery  issues.  We provided our Sandy Resource Newsletter to  affected residents to better connect them to the services they are entitled to  receive. We provided Skechers to Sandy-affected kids, which were generously provided by Rockaway Wish.  WCNY also surveyed affected residents at the 69th  and 63rd Precinct events about Hurricane Sandy-related issues. Our volunteers  included Michael Taylor, Jill Mullings, Ms. Kim, Josette Glemaud, and Maureen Young and  her wonderful girls (69th Pct.); Cherie Lang and Hillary Stackpole (63rd Pct.);  and Janet Behrens, Pat Bartha and Dawn Santiago (61st Pct.).  All were happy to help us help  others!
