We Care NY was proud to help Rockaway Free Flea Market on 2/15/13. Marissa and the Team of volunteers provided food, clothing and supplies to over 100 people that will help hundreds more. Rain, Snow, Cold weather does not stop good people from doing great things for others.
In early December 2013 Canarsie resident Jill Mullings of Agape a 501(c)3 charity arranged for 100 used kids bikes for Sandy affected children in the Rockaways with the help of Marissa Bernowitz and the ladies of the Rockaway Free Flea Market. This project started by Dr. Appel and supported by Danny's Cycle will give over a hundred children thousands of smiles and hours of fun. Helping others is nothing new for Mrs. Mullings or the amazingly caring Marissa Bernowitz. Over the years Ms. Mullings has provide bikes for many kids around Brooklyn, food for families also many other services and support to help others. We Care New York is proud to be working with both of these caring volunteers to help more people together.
Just picking up the bikes was not enough for them. They found a way to help victims of the disaster in the Philippines. On the same day they transported supplies to a location that is arranging to bring needed items to the Philippines. Great work ladies...
